Ke Kumu (Purpose-Why)
Nā Mea ʻIke ʻIa (NMII) is formed to promote and preserve Aloha in the world; and aid in the positive development of keiki-children, ohana-families, and wahi noho like o ka poʻe-communities with structured, cultural, values-based programs from the essence of our kūpuna-elders.
Ka Mākia (Vision-What)
Nā Mea ʻIke ʻIa will develop generations of self-dependent successful youth, thriving in their passions, achieving personal excellence, and positively impacting others as they learn how to live Aloha and share it with the world.
Ka Huakaʻi (Mission-How)
Hoʻomōhala nā opio loaʻa Kūpono Ke Ola
Impact the youth to achieve Excellence in Life - by collaborating with family and community to fill the need to BELONG, have a positive IDENTITY, and realize OPPORTUNITY.

Strategy
We will deliver on our mission with three programs that focus on one of three needs: BELONG - IDENTITY - OPPORTUNITY
The Royal Hawaiian Guard program is a structured Native Hawaiian cultural focused program that immerses participants in Hawaii Military-Style Drill, a blending of ancient warrior practices with a modern military protocol. The program is built on cultural values with the goal to have its members live Aloha and perpetuate it in the world. The Guard is a safe and positive group for all young people to BELONG. It is a space for them to engage in activities that spark their interests and explore leadership, service, culture, and community.
The Aloha Means program focuses on IDENTITY. Where we work with cultural experts and community elders to capture the nuances and essence of our Hawaiʻi and put it into educational content for visitors, residents, and future generations. Our goal is to provide youth, especially Native Hawaiians a sense of belonging in Hawaii and to proliferate Aloha in the world.
The Hoʻomāhua Initiative is our program to provide OPPORTUNITY. The Initiative is a kākou-everyone action that involves all in Hawaiʻi. Our work is to bring about a Smart Tourism solution that will connect visitors to residents and communities that will aid in building a circular economy in Hawaii. This will lead to future opportunities to work on economic diversification within communities based on resources that can be developed in the area. Our goal is that Native Hawaiian youth see their culture as valued and respected beyond a commercial aspect and internalize that there is a value to learning and living kanaka maoli culture.
